2007 Dodge Durango

i have 07 dodge dugango and it keeps reading gas cap i have replaced the gas cap 3 times and it still reads the same thing my check engine ligts comes on and several days later it goes off i tried turning it on-off and did not find any p codes my macanic said it the 02 sensors but when i went to auto zone they said it my have an evap system leak what might be the problem
