Hello I Have A Oil Leak Coming From Between The Engine And Transmission However

I just replaced the rear main oil seal. The crankshaft looked to have a wear mark all around where the old main seal was riding. They gave me a supposed new and improved rear main seal with no retainer spring. I asked everyone I could get ahold of about it leaking again because of how difficult it was for me to remove the transfer case and transmission and everything else I had to remove. Please any answers w

Can oil leak between engine and transmission?

If you've got a rear main seal leak you will have oil dripping off either your engine oil pan or the front of your transmission called the bell housing. ... For example, a leaking oil pan gasket or even a leaking valve cover gasket can drip down your engine and cause oil drips in this location.

What seal is between the engine and transmission?

rear main seal

The rear main seal keeps oil sealed inside the rear of the engine, where the crankshaft connects with the transmission. It can be expensive to repair, often $600 or more, because it typically involves removing the transmission and, in some cases, all or part of the engine

The best way to prove that you've got a rear main seal leak is the check if the engine side of the flexplate or flywheel is oily. If the rear main seal is leaking on your engine it will drip oil onto the flexplate or flywheel and sling oil around the bellhousing.
