It's imperative you cancel your reservation for tomorrow BEFORE the flight departs.  Whether or not they will give you a refund, by cancelling your reservation prior to the departure time, you at least will have some value left for future travel on American depending on how much your ticket cost and any penalties assessed.  If you know you will not be on the flight, it's better to cancel the reservation now and fight for reimbursement or penalty waivers later.  If you don't cancel the reservation before the flight departs, the airline considers you a "No Show" and you forfeit the entire ticket value.

Contact American at 1-800-433-7300 to explain the situation and have them document your record that you called in advance.  Request the agent's name and ID.  In the event you won't be able to use any of the remaining ticket value towards travel on American within a year of issue, then you can at least contact Customer Relations to plead your case for a refund waiver/exception.

i dont think they will give you a refund however you can try asking at http://www.delta.com/content/www/en_US/support/reservations-and-refunds.html
