Docking Station Headphone Output Not Working

Hello, I had a new hard drive put on my dell d620 and backed up my files on an external hard drive. When I put the laptop on the docking station, now the headphone output on the docking station is not working. How can I get the laptop to recognize the docking station and or get this working. Thanks
