How To Shut Down My Laptop

MY DELL INSPIRON 5050 LAPTOP SHUT DOWN OPTION IS NOT WORKING SO HOW CAN I SHUT DOWN MY LAPTOP PLEASE SUGGEST ME.

Pressing and holding the power button down will also turn the laptop off.

If it is not responding to the power button either, as a last resort you can unplug the AC adapter and pull the battery.

Have you tried pressing the keys:   Ctrl + Alt + Delete at the same time? sveral options should pop-up including an alternate shut down.
