wyme,

Below is the keyboard function key information.
The Inspiron M5030 system has a new "Disable Touchpad" key next to the F12 key. This is a toggle key which can be used to Disable / Enable the Touchpad.

  • On the Inspiron M5030, the Fn key need not be used in combination with various Multimedia keys. The default setting in the BIOS is Multimedia Key First. If the user wishes to use the Fn key combinations, the option in the BIOS should be accordingly set to Function Key First. The table below lists the keys and their functions with the BIOS default options only (Multimedia Key First).
  • Multimedia Key First option is active only within the Operating System. To enter the setup or Boot Menu, the user still needs to tap F2 or F12.
F1 Switches the video image to the next display option. The options include the integrated display, an external monitor, and both displays simultaneously. F2 The Wireless Enable/Disable dialog box appears. Available options are 1. Enable Bluetooth 2. Enable Wireless LAN. F3 Displays the Dell QuickSet Battery Meter. F4 Decreases brightness on the integrated display only (not on an external monitor). F5 Increases brightness on the integrated display only (not on an external monitor). Sound F7 Mutes the sound. F8 Decreases the volume. F9 Increases the volume. Media F10 Skips to the previous track in the playlist in Windows Media Player. F11 Plays/pauses media playback of the playlist in Windows Media Player. F12 Skips to the next track in the playlist in Windows Media Player.
