How To Do A Master Reset On A Dell Inspiron M5010

Your system should have a hidden recovery partition that you can use to recover the system to factory settings. To access this, please restart the computer. At the Dell splash logo, press and hold the Ctrl key and tap F11 for a couple of times. This should take you to Dell PC Restore by Symantec screen. Select Restore and click Confirm. This will take some time to complete and reset your computer to the factory defaults.

I work for Dell's Social Media Team. CTRL + F11 keys is if you are using Windows XP. If you are using another operating system, then you will need to go through the Recovery Options by pressing the F8 key at the Dell Logo on startup. Refer to the below link for help in restoring the system to factory settings. It is referred as PC restore.
