Our Remote Only Works Sporadically. It Does Not Need Batteries

The RC32 is known to have a slow response time and it is also known to have a short life span. There is also the issue of sticking keys which sometimes shift slightly out of position and get caught under the cover, preventing it from working at all.
If you have ruled out the battery and have gone through everything in the troubleshooting section of the manual which will open in a new window, it is time to contact DirecTv about replacing this 2006 model remote. DirecTv clearly says in their manual that they will repair or replace it at their discretion. Check the Repair or Replacement policy in the manual.
You can reach DirecTv by phone 8:00am-1:00am EST 7 days a week. Dial 1-800-531-5000 - to speak to a person, say YES when prompted. If you want Tech Support to walk you through the remote troubleshooting, they are there 24/7.
