How Do You Disassemble The Cuisinart Dcc-1150 Lid For Cleaning?

I had the same problem. After warming the plastic with warm water the lower cylindrical portion pops off the lid by carefully bending it like taking the lid off a margarine tub (it won't come all the way off immediately, but will separate a little allowing you to work the rest off), revealing the post on the bottom of the ball valve. It appears that post sits within a hole beneath it in the lower, previously removed part that may be supposed to raise the ball valve under circumstances I couldn't figure out (no obvious lever beneath, but there is a gasket surrounding the hole. Increased air pressure from temperature?). I also couldn't figure out how to disassemble the lower cylindrical portion that has another pour valve within it (that seemed to work fine). Deciding my options were fix/figure out the lid or buy a new one at $8 + $6 shipping, I chose to permanently alter the lid by heat-fusing the tip of the plastic post to the nearby plastic housing around it (in the upper part of the lid), thus keeping it always open. Lacking a hot glue gun, I heated a nail in a pair of pliers over a gas burner and repeatedly melted the post to the surrounding plastic. Done.
