Hi, it looks like the LTX 1040 has a Kohler SV590 engine. (You can check the plate on the engine to be sure.) According to the engine manual, which you can download below, the correct gap for the plug for an SV590 engine is 0.030", which is a pretty common gap for lawn mowers. Thanks for using HelpOwl!
