Spring Location

I recently replaced my deck belt. I had to remove the guard over the clutch. When I finished I saw a spring on the ground. It's about 1/2" x 5". I can't find where it goes.....If you can help, some pix would be great.

Why does the belt keep coming off my Cub Cadet mower?

The problem is that the deck lifting mechanism has a serious wear point that allows the deck to droop in the front. ... The reason for the wear is that, as the deck bounces up and down as the machine moves over the ground, the fork is constantly rubbing back and forth on the shaft.
