Does anyone know if this device works with any flavour of Linux, and where I might find additional information?   Thanks, Dan

Unless I'm mistaken, this is the Xmod SB0830EF from Creative and yes it is compatible with Linux and Windows.  No special drivers needed. For more information on this device and Linux compatibility check out www.8sec.eu/blog/gadgets/wireless-sound-systems
