Dog On Kansas City Craiglist

When the owner responded to my email, I was told they are in Texas and we would have to pay the shipping cost which together with the asked price would total $250. How do we know this is a legitimate seller? She got back with me again and asked "how much do you have so we could sum up and ship her over as part of our contribution to give her a loving home." Could you help me with this?

Sometimes people from other areas will post on your local site. Depending on the actual distance between them and you will help determine their legitimacy. Selling a dog I would not think would be a cross country action. Unfortunately there is no way to determine if they are ok or not. i would say pay in cash when you pick up item but if that is not possible, pay with paypal. Paypal does provide you some protection. Do not pay as a friend though. Make it a fee transaction. Also please be careful with pet postings, I have read that in some areas, animals are stolen and then resold on craigslist. Good Luck.
