Have An Existing Account. How Can I Get Beyond Phone Authentication?

Each time I enter my phone number on the Phone Authentication page, I cannot proceed because the phone number is already associated with my account. I thought that was the purpose of the authentication. I would like to post a new ad. Please don't send me that canned email which does not address the problem. I need specific help.

You have not reached Craigslist but an independent help site. You must have a new phone number for authentication; sorry. If necessary, enlist the aid of a buddy who will receive the phone call and convey the code to you.
