Is This E-mail Titled 'your Account Is On Hold' From Craigs List Legit?

I recieved an E mail supposedly from craigs list stating my account is on hold for one of three reasons. 1. Posting same item in multiple cities. 2.post has URL to a commercial web site. 3. Ad has phone numbers ,E mail or URL listed. I have none of the three situations on my 2 apartment for rent listings. Is this E mail legitamate? If so I need help in understanding reason for temporary hold status.

It could be legitimate as it appears that your account may have been compromised (phished). Your best course of action is to contact Craigslist directly to verify the legitimacy of the email and have your account reset. The link to their online email form is at the webpage below:
http://sfbay.craigslist.org/cgi-bin/emailForm.cgi
Note, when providing an email address, it might be advisable to have them reply to an email address that is different than the one you use for Craiglist activities. Also check the Junk/Spam folder in case any reply from them is routed there.

WARNING: scammers may try to steal your account by sending an official-looking email with a link to a fake craigslist login page that looks like this page, hoping you'll type in your username and password.

Look carefully at the web address near the top of your browser to make sure you are on the real craigslist login page, https://accounts.craigslist.org
