Does The New Modem Have A Battery In It Why Do You Say To Buy One If It Has One

Telephone modems have a battery back-up. If you don't have digital voice, you can just take it out. Frankly, as far as I can tell, the whole battery thing is just for marketing. If the power goes down, your cable will probably go down too and you would have to have a corded phone that draws its power from the phone line for it to work.
