Retrieving Phone Messages - How To

My mother has Comcast phone service and cannot remember how to retrieve her phone messages. is there a code? Can Comcast re-set that code? What is the process to retrieve messages? She tried the "secret code" that she thought they had used, but it did not work. She had a Comcast service tech at the house today (tech was Justin) but didn't think to ask about this problem.
