Modems are no longer available in some local offices, and you must order it by mail if you need an upgrade. Verify the letter by calling your local Comcast office. To find the phone number, type in your zip code here:

No it's not a scam. You need to call Comcast Customer Care in order to upgrade to the new Wireless Gateway. Call 1-800-934-6489 and they will be glad to assist you!
