Proper Subnet Setting

Cisco WRVS4400N We would like to set Subnet mask 255.255.248.0 on LAN address of our router in order to integrate it fully into our network environment. Unfortunatelly the web configuration utility shows only 255.255.255.* options in subnet mask combo box.Why is this limitation? How can we tweak this to set up correct subnet?
