2.4 L Engine Noise

My 2010 sebring, 2.4 liter engine is making engine noise, it's not a knock but a whiney noise, it is more prenounced after you rev the engine and it revs down. I've ran it with the belt off, so it's a whiney noise from the engine itself, any ideas?
