Instructions
    • 1

Move the Chrysler Sebring to a level surface. If possible, you should drive the car onto risers to make the underside more accessible.

    • 2

Raise the hood of the car and touch the radiator to measure its temperature. If it's warm or hot to the touch, prop the hood up and wait for the radiator to cool off.

    • 3

Twist the radiator cap one turn to relieve any pressure. Even if the radiator is cool to the touch, it can still have pressure built up and turning the cap releases this pressure. Remove the radiator cap completely, once the pressure alleviates.

    • 4

Place a pan or bucket with at least a two-gallon capacity directly beneath the radiator drain plug, also known as a petcock valve, on the underside of the radiator.

    • 5

Remove the radiator plug. Usually you can remove this plug with your hands, but sometimes you may need a socket wrench to complete this task.

    • 6

Allow the existing coolant to drain out of the Chrysler Sebring's radiator and into the pan underneath. Pour the used coolant into a sealable container and replace the pan under the radiator opening.

    • 7

Close the drain plug and fill the radiator with distilled water. Then, open the drain plug to allow the water to drain into the bucket. Repeat this filling and flushing until the water runs debris free into the bucket. You need at least 3 gallons of distilled water.

    • 8

Put the plug back into place in the bottom of the radiator. Then, fill the radiator with coolant to within 1 inch of the top lip of the radiator's topside opening. You may want to use Zerex G-05 coolant, which the manufacturer recommends for all Chrysler automobiles.

    • 9

Leave the radiator cap off and start the Chrysler Sebring. Allow the car to run until the cooling fan turns on twice. Then turn off the car and check the coolant level. If the coolant level lowered, fill it to within 1 inch of the top of the radiator again.

    • 10

Replace the radiator cap and shut the hood of your Chrysler Sebring.
