2004 Body Suddenly Rusting Away!?!

2004 Chrysler T&C with 93,000 miles. Located in Northern Illinois. It looked good until this past winter. Now I have big rust holes in the wheel wells, corner of hood and plastic bumper, and the lower part of sliding side doors. Why is is suddenly rusting? And so quickly? The salt, cold and bad winter? Can it be 'Bondo'ed to stop the rust? I can't afford a whole body job and full repaint. I'd like to get at least another 20-25,000 miles out of the van. The engine might make it but the body won't! I saw another 2004 T&C that looked like he was starting to have the same rust problem. It just hasn't gotten as bad as mine is. - What can I affordably do about this? Is it covered under warranty? Do I have any chance that Chrysler could do something to STOP the rust? I'm not fussy. I can live with 'scars' where the rust was removed. I'll just paint bandages on the repairs with humorous notes: "The Winter of 2013-2014 Almost Got Me!" or "Beware the Salt Monster! It will Eat You Up!". - I need to do something soon to just stop the damage before 'the bottom falls out'. Thanks, Carole
