It's really not a job for anybody that hasn't done it before or at least hasn't changed a oil pan gasket etc before but you can get service manuals that will help you out in doing the job.
No1You have to jack up the vehicle and place it on stands , then apply the emg brake, open the hood then go under the vehicle and unbolt the transmission pan"note on some vehicles there might be pieces of the cross member or frame support etc that might have to be removed first to gain access to the pan fully" drain the fluid into a proper container
No2 pop out the filter
No3 you have to clean the pan and scrape off the old gasket from the pan too
No4 make sure the surface that the pan attaches to on the transmission is clean
No5 make sure that surface and the pan are shiny clean and fully dry and the bolt threads are clean and dry too
No6 pop in the new filter
No7 place the gasket around the pan and place the pan up to meet the transmission and install the bolts while you hold the pan in place but don't fully tighten any yet just install bolts across from each other first and hand tight. It's best to have a torgue ranch so you can use the manual to find out the specs and tighten the bolts accordingly
No8 once the bolts are all in and tight remove rejack the vehicle , remove the stands , release the emg brake
No9 use a funnel and add the fresh proper factory recommended transmission fluid and amount to the transmission
No10 check the fluid level and check the vehicle's transmission shifting, plus look for any leaks , test drive it.
Hope that helps and best of luck.By the way a service manual is really vital here or knowing the proper specs, plus having a helpful helper would be good too but really for the amount of work involved here it might be best to spend the 100 bucks or so to have a pro do the job.
