1990 Lebaron Cont. Trans Shifts To Limp Mode When Shifting In To Overdrive

dose not happen all the time . can drive car all day shifts fine,next day it will happen three times,seems to shft and run to good to need complete rebuild as i am being told hoping to find a fix i can can try .
