Oil Pressure Remaining Life.

How much should a person rely on the "oIL pressure warning of remaing life of oil in engine"   I am at  61% and a check of the dipstick shows the engine does not "need" additional oil, it feels pretty smooth (no grit that I can detect) .   Last oil change was 3500 miles ago.     The unit is a 2011 Malibu 4 cyl., have owned it about 3.5 months. Thanks, Walt

I couldn't find the recommended interval for GM cars, but Ford recommends changing the oil on newer cars every 7,500 miles or every six months, whichever comes first.

I personally would change it every 5,000 miles or every six months, but that's just my opinion. I wouldn't take any chances on damaging the engine of a car that's almost brand new just to save $30 or so.
