Excessive Oil Burn

My 2007 Suburban is burning oil.  It is definitely not a leak.  Every 2500 miles, the Add Oil light comes on.  With all of the reported events from other people on the Internet, I know it is not just isolated to my truck.   Is there anything that Chevrolet has done to rectify the problem?
