How Many Miles Left When The Gas Light Comes On

It really varies with each car. But there is a spot at which the fuel pickup will no longer suck up the fuel to deliver it to the fuel system. Generally speaking i have always assumed 2 gallons when the light comes on multiplied by you best estimated MPG. so in my case, 2 x 17 =34 miles. or be cheap and assume 1 gallon which would be 17 miles in my case.
Also, when you fill your tank some gas sits in a bowl like structure so even when you are on fumes there is liquid gas around the pump.
