Rear Fan Knocking Noise 2002 Chevy Trailblazer

Inside my 2002 ls ext trailblazer there is sometimes a knocking noise from behind the plastic panel on the passenger side behind the #rd row seat. It usually happens when I turn on the fan to blow heat even without the rear fan knob on. It last for a few minutes and quits and sometimes comes on randomly. Got any ideas?
