2002 Chevy Tracker 4x4 Gear Shifting Problem?

I own a 2002 automatic chevy tracker. Today when I placed the gear shift into park the vehicle will not move back to drive and will not start. help

Ok, i am not saying this is the answer. however, i can help you with this. i need more info, if the following is not the answer. (fyi they used 3 different transmissions on those, also , more than 1 transfer caseing, )

 

With that said. That has a "Shift Interlock", meaning it will not come out of gear, till the vehicle is running. So, with not able to start the vehicle, this might not be the issue. can by pass this, by, truning the ignition into "ACC" or the "ON" position. at that time, you can shift out of "Park" 

As far as Starting, well, battery concition? Good Ground(-)? Good, positive (+) connection at starter ? ....( if thats all good, try "TAPPING" starter at same time as trying to start the vehicle...might be starter/selinod.

I WILL check back oftern today, friday the 8th feb. to help if needed
