CAL means calibrating. Normally, the system automatically knows the compass heading just as soon as you travel at least a mile. But, if it hasn't gotten a reading and it is still in CAL mode, here's a method to calibrate the compass manually. Firstly, you need to an open area for this one for the reason that in order to calibrate a compass, the Impala MUST do a 360 degree turn at least once or twice, and in time it'll get a reading.
