Pass Lock Problem Security Light Is On

Please tell me how to get this problem fixed. I had a 1998 Malibu with the same problem. Now I have a 2000 Impala with the same problem only worse. I spent way to much money on getting the problem fixed on the Malibu. I cannot do this again with the Impala. Please tell me what needs to be done to correct this. I will never buy another Chevrolet if I cannot get this problem resolved without spending a lot of money that I do not have or make!
