On The Front Irs 4x4 Unit Where Exactly Is The Device Fill Plug?

i need to find out because what I thought was the right. service fill hole in casing, when I pulled plug out it poured very runy looked to be just engine oil come out of it! So I hurried up and even though it was like burning me I had to get the plug back in front rear end before it ran out and than I would have been in much more problems. However all I see is a drain hole at bottom then I see what looked to be the service fill hole, and above that is a vent tube so I'm confused on if I was at correct hole then why was it over full and why was the fluid NOT rear end greases but it seems to be motor oil please help me on this question oldest thank you
