Truck Doesnt Go Into Gear

Transmission Shifts But Doesnt Engage Like Your Still Holding Brake Down.

It sounds like the rear diff is locked. Will the car roll if you place in neutral and try to push it?

Hi, there's no single correct answer to your question as it is posed, so we would need to pose a couple return questions to you to try to help you. Bear with me, some of them will sound dumb. What is the history of transmission related anything on the truck? Have you checked your transmission fluid level? Is the parking brake set? Does it lug the engine down when you put it in gear but won't move, or does it not affect the engine when shifted? Is it a four wheel drive truck and if so is the transfer case engaged?
