Yes, there is a trunk release on the 1999 Chevrolet Lumina. There are two ways to open the trunk:

From the outside: Insert the door key into the trunk lock and turn it.

From the inside: Press the trunk release button located under the instrument panel on the driver's side. The transaxle shift lever must be in PARK (P) for the remote trunk release button to work.

If you have a remote keyless entry transmitter, you can also use it to open the trunk. Just press the trunk symbol on the transmitter, making sure your shift lever is in PARK (P).
