Ignition Switch/ Transmission Problems

Ignition switch died and since that, transmission starts out in second gear and wont upshift.

Can ignition switch affect transmission?

No a bad ignition coil can not affect the transmission. But a misfiring engine (caused by a faulty ignition coil) can be an unsmooth power plant making the operator feel as if the transmission is shifting strangely.

better to repalce entire unit
