Trouble Shooting.
Installed a new black ink cartridge and the alarm button continues to go off.

I'm guessing by cartridge you mean ink tank, as with this printer you cannot install a cartirdge by itself.
Most likely you did not install the ink tank correctly. (It's also possible your printer didn't recognize the new ink tank if it's an off-brand purchase.)
