Mp 500,error Code 5010?

Greetings - Please try the following steps to correct the issue - this same procedure worked for others :
- Power off printer
- Hold down STOP/RESET button then Press and Hold down Power button
- Keep Power button down and Release STOP/RESET button
- Push STOP/RESET button twice
- let go of power button
- Wait 20-30 seconds - my display shows "canon Idle"
- Then Push STOP/RESET button four times
- Push Power button twice
- Power off (shut printer down)
- Wait for at least 5 seconds and power it back on
