Error Message U052

I get the above error message, but I have the original printhead in my Canon Pixma MG5320 printer. I tried removing and replacing the ink cartridges; I tried removing and replacing the printhead. Nothing has changed. The printer is completely frozen up.

Hello algteach,

There are a couple of other things to try before purchasing a printhead, as you can review at the following link:

Error u052 - Wrong Printhead

The link offers instructions on how to correctly reseat a print head on your model, how to safely clean the print head and contacts, etc. Also, there are a couple of links included as to where you can purchase a replacement, if needed.

Greetings. This error sadly comes up even with the right head installed. A printhead reset is known to clear it unless if there be a mechanical failure. The printhead reset steps are available here

As you may have seen, Kerv's link leads nowhere. Sorry.

Even though you have the original printhead, the error may intervene if its installation is not perfect. The solution is to reset it, for which you'll find instructions here. Look for the heading, "Reset the Print Head to resolve the U051 / U052 error," followed by a graphic and a sub-head, "Solution."
