- Ensure the battery is installed correctly: Make sure the battery is inserted in the correct orientation, with the positive (+) and negative (-) ends properly aligned. You can refer to the user manual for instructions on how to insert the battery correctly.
- Check the battery compartment: Inspect the battery compartment for any debris or corrosion that may be affecting the battery contact points. If you notice any debris or corrosion, clean the contacts with a soft cloth or a cotton swab dipped in vinegar or lemon juice. Ensure the contacts are dry before inserting the battery.
- Perform a reset: Try resetting the calculator to its default settings by pressing the "AC" or "Reset" button. This should clear any internal errors and may help to restore functionality.
- Contact customer support: If none of the above solutions work, it may be necessary to contact Canon customer support or a professional repair service for assistance. There may be a hardware issue with the calculator that requires professional attention.
If your calculator is still under warranty, you may be able to get it repaired or replaced free of charge. Contact Canon customer support for more information on warranty coverage and repair options.
