2004 Cadillac Deville Can I Put Water In Check Coolant Level

I'm not exactly sure what you are asking but if you are referring to putting water in your coolant system I would not recommend it. Most coolants especially dex-cool which g.m. uses in pretty much everything now is not a good mix. Newer water pumps are different from the old ones and use a smaller bearing and impeller that likes to run on the lubricant based coolant and water is only helping to wash that lubricant away. In an emergency situation, if using water gets you and your family out of harms way and off the side of the road by all means use it. You can always have the fluids dumped or flushed and then replaced with what your manufacturer calls for. I hope I answered what you were asking.
