What Is Going On?

I replaced my rad, water pump and thermostat with all brand new stuff.. now I am losing coolant and transmission fluid.. what is going on? as well my dash lights keep flicking in and out til they don't work at all.. then it will work again. any suggestions.

You say "losing coolant", from where exactly? I would assume it to be obvious unless it's buried in the engine somewhere that you can't get to. Check each connection you touched, at least as far as you get get at them. If any are wet that should be a sign. The thermostat has a gasket that can cause leaks if it gets pinched. Can you inspect the housing mount? There is always a chance the radiator got nicked and now has a hole or could be defective out of the box. Did you get a factory radiator or after market? Many after market radiators are simply junk and not well constructed.

As for the dash lights I would assume that you nudged a connector on a wiring harness somewhere. Make sure ALL connections are tight anywhere near where you were working. The connectors all should have a safety clip to keep them from backing out. You'll need to un-clip them to remove any of them. If a clip got busted the connector may have come lose.

Also, is any antifreeze leaking onto the alternator? If so you may be looking at a new alternator since there tends to be metal flaked in it from the inside of the engine. That can make the fluid conductive which can short out the alternator. are the battery connections tight? If you removed it double check that.

As for the transmission fluid, you got me there. Assuming ,you never touched it, it should be fine. Is it actually antifreeze that has run to the back of the engine? It can look like transmission fluid is leaking if the leak picks up engine oil and dirt on its way down. The smell of the liquid should denote what it is. If it smells really oily them it's likely not antifreeze.

The El Dorados have Northstar V6 engines as I recall. Those are a bit more elaborate than a standard V6 so there may be things I am unaware of (never worked on one myself).

You may just need to call a mechanic and ask what to check.
