What would cause a key not to go into ignition?

Why Won't My Key Turn the Ignition? There are several reasons why the key may have stopped turning the ignition. Your car key may have stopped turning the ignition because of a safety feature of the car, a bad key, or broken or damaged wafers in the ignition.

What causes the ignition to lock up?

When a person turns their car off with the steering wheel turned, or tries to turn the wheel after the car has been turned off, the wheel and the ignition key can lock up.

What causes the ignition to lock up?
