2006 Buick Lacrosse Keyless Entry Problem
Both my key fobs stopped working today. I replaced batteries in both fobs about a month ago. I assume there is something going on with the keyless receiver unit in the car. My local dealer closed three years ago, and the nearest Buick dealer is now more than 40 miles away. I have been using good independent mechanic since then. Any suggestions? If I have to involve dealer service, can Chevrolet dealer handle this?

When mine stopped working, I replaced the the outer housing and button pad. That costs about 15 bucks. After awhile, the contacts on the button pad become oxidized, and it needs to be replaced. You can only buy it with the hard plastic outer housing. Just transfer your circuit board into the new housing. It will remain programmed. There's a real durability problem with this particular fob. The one that came with my Ford Taurus is much more durable.
