Not Cranking Or Starting

My 05 Rendezvous is not doing anything when i turn the key to start. My starter & battery are less than 6 months old. But let me back up about 5 days ago. All of a sudden while driving on fwy, my service traction system, security, and brake light all came on and chimed. Within 2 mins followed by all cluster gages going dead and low fuel came on. I was able to drive still until 3 days later my car won't start. Plz help!

thanks for your answer. I can a simple diagnostic test with an obd meter and it stated my alternator was good. I checked all fuses and relays which all work. I was leaning towards the ignition switch. I also forgot to mention within the 3 days I was still able to drive, the cluster and lights would cycle between functioning then seconds to minutes later would fail. Also my auto headlights (when working) would either stay on even after cars been off or not work at all.

It sounds like there may be several issues going on with your 2005 Buick Rendezvous. Based on your description, here are a few possible causes for the issues you are experiencing:
  1. Faulty alternator: When the alternator is not functioning properly, it can cause the battery to drain, which can result in the car not starting. Additionally, if the alternator is not charging the battery, it can cause various warning lights to appear on the dashboard.
  2. Bad ignition switch: The ignition switch is responsible for turning on the electrical system of the car when the key is turned. If the switch is faulty, it can cause the car not to start.
  3. Faulty BCM (Body Control Module): The BCM controls various electrical systems in the car, including the security system and traction control. If the BCM is not functioning properly, it can cause warning lights to appear on the dashboard and cause the car not to start.

Based on your description, it seems like the issue may be related to the alternator, since you mentioned that the battery and starter are both relatively new. However, it is also possible that there are other issues at play. The best course of action would be to have a professional mechanic diagnose the issue so that it can be properly repaired.
