Security Light Has Come On Why?

Could be your key is dirty or wearing out. There should be a resistor in the key. That resistor completes the VATS (vehicle anti-theft system) circuit. If it is defective or dirty, the security light will come on.
The first thing to try is to wipe off the key with a cloth. It's possible that the resistor is just dirty from daily use. If that doesn't turn the security light off, try your spare key (if you have one) and see if that turns off the light.
The security light isn't a big deal right now, but it may be telling you that some part of your VATS setup is on the way out. Eventually, you will turn the key and nothing will happen. The key will no longer complete the circuit or some other part of the sytem will shut down. Then you will have to have it towed to a dealer to correct the problem.
