What Do The Dots On The Dip Stick Mean? What Is Proper Oil Level?

If the oil is above the "ADD" mark, then you have enough oil for operating the car. If the oil is below the "ADD" mark (or right at the mark) add a quart of oil and check the level again. The oil level should be above the "ADD" mark and below the area of the dipstick with the crossed marks (and the dots).

You can see a picture of the dipstick and instructions for checking the oil and adding oil starting on page 6-13 of the owner's manual.
