1990 Buick Reatta Won't Start

Hi, I changed the steering column on my car because the ignition switch broke so i replaced the whole column and the car still wont start, piror to that the car would randomly would cut off and i would have to wait for 15 to 30 mins and it would start up like nothing happened then woulod do it again
