How Do I Install The Trim Kit?

My micro-wave and trim kit are arriving on Friday and my wife is have a large party in which she will be using the micro-wave on Saturday morning.  I would like to cut out the hole for the micro-wave but I am uncomfortable without having the trim-kit. So I am asking for advice from experts.
