Can Not Hear Person Calling!

I can not hear person calling but they can hear me. When I put them on speaker, I can hear them but they can't hear me. My texting still works. So how can get my phone back to working order? No, it was not dropped or had gotten wet. It just stopped working. I have had this i776 model for 5 years now. Is this something that happens after time?
