1. Some laptops stop charging once the battery reaches 100% and uses power from mains to run laptop while baytery is left alone. These laptops won't get overcharged
2. Now if a laptop doesn't have such circuit which is very rare

8-10 hours before battery hits 20%. On average I go like 12 hours from waking up with a full charge before it gets close to 20%.

It depends on the action you use your phone to perform.

For Light usage (only handling the device when necessary for calls, texting, email, BBM and the like) = well over 36 hours before it could use a charge.
